Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is not easy for a majority of mothers. The most important part for me in educating parents about breastfeeding is acknowledging that it is difficult, and not shaming the decision to formula feed for any reason. Fed is best. Healthy moms and babies are the goal, no matter which way they choose to feed their baby. There are a variety of reasons that breastfeeding may be difficult or painful for mothers, so I have included lactation consultants and physical therapists who share what may be causing the pain and how to correct that problem. These online resources are fantastic, but it may also be helpful to reach out to a lactation consultant in your area that could meet in person. WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) has great free breastfeeding resources, along with many other awesome resources, if you qualify for their assistance.
